| Not 21 yet? You can still listen to live music at the Genghis Music Room at Genghis Cohen. After a decor renovation influenced by the Hispanic culture of the city, the room has become known as the place on Fairfax to support touring and local singer-songwriters. With a capacity of only 60 give or take, the "church-like" feel is the ideal fit for intimate piano, acoustic guitar and stringed instrument performances. As for the rest of the restaurant, Genghis Cohen's "Southwestern Chinese" cuisine is filled with menu items ranked on a scale of 1-4 peppers with the "Chipotle Chicken" dish as the most flaming. For lesser abuse to the tongue, try the "Shanghai" mini rolls, signature "No Name" boneless duck, or the "Triple Kung Pao" array of beef, chicken, shrimp and assorted nuts. There's tofu too, served "orange peel" style or with a slight taste of ginger and chili when ordered "Queen Fried." |
