| Now there's no need to be at mom's house Friday night when the Nintendo Legion and Trekkies await us at this 8-bit blast from the past. We love our Grand Theft Auto and Halo next-gen bestsellers but remember your gaming roots kids. How can anyone not like a good ol' game of pinball and do you remember how much fun Centipede and Gauntlet were back in the day? OK, drinking and driving is a big no-no in real life but it totally rocks when you're in the cockpit of the 1983 high-speed simulation Spy Hunter! So yes, most of these arcade games from the '80s can be easily downloaded to your laptop but hey, then you'd be missing out on playing Ms. Pac-Man built right into a table for two and let's not forget about the collectible Dodgers bobbleheads, Star Wars action figures, and alternative rock from the steel wheels of an ultradocious DJ. Blipsy Barcade knows that every gamer has different tastes (Rock Band or Guitar Hero?) so it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the beer power runs the gamut from Bud Light and Stella Artois, to Grolsch and Sake Bombs. Mario & Luigi get strength from magic mushrooms but we humanoids prefer to power-up with college chow - you know, pizza, burgers, sodas, Doritos, it's all here plus the ultimate dorm room food...Ramen noodles! So until that fantasy movie date with Tia Carrere becomes a reality, to the Barcade we shall go for the "Revenge Of The Nerds" and Sci-Fi picture showings! Tip: Look for the blue Pac-Man ghost light on the window to find the place. |
